Womb Progress Due to the Robin Danielson Act

Hope you’re staying cool! It’s quite hot in New Jersey! Since June, the Robin Danielson Act petition on change.org is closed. It looks like the bill will need to be presented to Congress for the eighth time in order for women to know the ingredients and health risks using tampons, pads and other feminine hygiene products. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t disappointed, considering the petition needed 5591 more participants and approval from Congress. Obviously this important health topic is not viral yet and bringing down the internet like Kim Kardashian’s behind.

On the flip side, here’s what I’m grateful for regarding the Robin Danielson Act:

  • Thanks to everyone who signed the bill and told a friend about it!
  • It always makes my day when someone shares that they started using a menstrual cup and/or started buying Natracare/Maxim pads or tampons and noticed a positive difference.
  • I’ve enjoyed all the insightful, skeptical, passionate, apathetic, and hilarious conversations about menstrual hygiene. It’s been an amazing and enlightening journey so far.

So even though the bill didn’t pass, I’m celebrating with a happy dance around a sprinkler (to keep me cool) for each step forward along the way! Here’s to success with the next bill and to helping young girls and women increase their awareness of opportunities to enhance their health!
