Menstrual Products Bill: The Right to Know What’s Down There

Ladies – it’s time to know the ingredients in your tampons, pads and other down there products – like douches and menstrual cups!

Wait….you don’t know about the Menstrual Products  Right to Know Act of 2017 that’s before Congress?

It’s time for you to know and to take action. Call or email your representative right away! Women Voices for the Earth provide super information on how to contact .

If you’re concerned about the quality of food you’re putting in your body, then you should also be concerned about the intimate products you’re regularly inserting into or holding close to a highly absorbable area of your body.

Before you grab your next box of tampons or pads at your local store or pharmacy consider you might be ingesting:

  • Pesticides
  • GMO’s
  • Phthalates
  • Dioxin (linked to cancer)
  • BPA / BPS
  • Polypropylene & propylene glycol

These icky chemicals and toxins  are linked to the increased risk of these unpleasant conditions and diseases:

  • Toxic Shock Syndrome
  • Endometriosis
  • Hormone disruption
  • Infertility
  • Birth defects
  • Cancer (cervical, ovary, uterine, breast)
  • Allergies
  • Dryness

You and all the lovely ladies in your circle have a right to know!

It’s actually wrong not to know what’s in our menstrual products.

Companies get away with a lack of transparency of disclosing the ingredients in these important products because of tampons and pads are considered medical devices. Companies don’t need to list out what’s in the product if it’s considered a medical device.

Sadly, this isn’t the first bill before Congress requesting to make this information public.

Nope…there’s been over 10+ acts that haven’t been approved. This also isn’t my first blog on a bill before Congress to get this information out there.

The only way to get this done is for women to collaborate and join together to have their voices and their down there heard.

Why risk your health using female hygiene products just because there are folks out there that are more concerned with profits than promoting the health of your baby-making and hormone producing sacred zone.

Action is needed in order for women to get the information they need to know in order to make optimal health choices.

Here’s your down there call to action:

  • Contact your representative and demand to get this bill passed in Congress
  • Spread the word – share the bill with your friends and family
  • Know that there are healthier options for down there – read here
