Ayurveda

First met:  October 1999

Issue:  During one my worst times, my body felt as though its energy source mysteriously became unplugged. Although I met with different doctors and had many tests done, no one could figure out what was wrong with me. My cardiologist told me I had chronic fatigue or Epstein Barr virus. At the time, this kind of diagnosis was not taken seriously by a lot of doctors and people. My confidence that I would ever feel healthy again hit a low point.

Initial resistance:  High. Even though I felt miserable and at my wits end by all the doctors and tests, I only decided to try Aruyveda out of desperation.

What‘s the point?  This healer works with Ayurveda, naturopathy, nutrition, and aromatherapy. Aruyveda focuses on the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects of a person. The healer strongly stressed the importance of the benefits of diet, aromatherapy using essential oils in order to help the body return to a state of balance.

Personal experience: In 1999, I felt helpless and convinced the cause of my illness would never be uncovered, and my days might be numbered. Prior to my illness I always exercised and tried to stay in shape, but during the height of my illness, walking more than six blocks or climbing my stairs completely taxed my energy. Every time this healer performed Reiki, I left feeling as though I could skip all the way home. I had no idea how or why it worked, but I couldn’t deny I felt better.  I also learned how to detoxify my body, eat foods to support my body type, and use herbs and supplements to support my immune system.  I reclaimed enough of my health to re-enter my normal life.

Even though I worked with this healer on and off for ten years, it was only when I got my biopsy result in 2008 that I truly opened to the process of taking charge of my health by digging into blocked emotions, pH levels, minerals, hormonal balance and detoxifying my liver. Thanks to her support and help, I became aware of my body’s natural healing ability.
